Jan 4, 2022 · The church is unusual in the extent of work carried out in the restoration period (in 1665-6) including a new south aisle and porch, using what is described as 'posthumous Gothic tracery'. The church is Listed Grade I and the lych gate, dating from 1921, is Listed Grade II.

A BRONZE PLAQUE IS LOCATED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE LYNCH GATE AND IS SET INTO BULWELL STONE PIERS. THE STONE PIERS SUPPORT WOODEN COLUMNS WHICH IN TURN SUPPORT A PITCHED ROOF. THE PITCHED ROOF COMPRISES DELABOLE SLATES. THE PLAQUES USE EMBOSSED LETTERING. Inscription legible?
