The CDC has awarded Corbett-Detig and his team at the UCSC Genomics Institute a two-year, $2.52 million contract to continue their work tracking the COVID-19 virus’s evolution and expand their software tools to track other pathogens. Prescribed burns near campus starting Wednesday, Nov. 20
5 hours ago · The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will conduct a prescribed burn near Twin Gates off Empire Grade at Marshall Field in Santa Cruz. The controlled burn of approximately 20 acres will take place Wednesday, November 20 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weather permitting. All burning will depend on weather and air-quality conditions that are favorable for smoke dispersal.

Aug 20, 2024 · The closing of fiscal year 2024 on June 30 revealed that the campus core funds budget had revenue of $546 million and expenses of $654 million, a $107 million deficit. This gap is concerning because it is both significant and higher than our initial Budget Office projection. Our recent deficits have been covered by one-time campus reserves.
